ATI OR NVIDIA

hi lads

lookin to upgrade gfx card asap got around 500 quid to spend so not sure wiether to buy the new gigabyte gtx 560ti 1000 mhz clock version until bf3 comes out then buy a realy decent card for it or buy 2 cards in either sli or crossfire instead for the long term


any ideas

I can recomend an ati 6950 2 gb of ram and then unlock it to a fully 6970 95% do work this way, and you can add another card later on, i have one myself and its agood card and its better than a nvidia 560 card.

My 6950 is unlocked to use all locked shaders then overclocked to 6970 speed exactly as a 6970, i will add another card later if needed!

well reports for the 6950 it that it ships now witout the switch so no flashing is no longer possible but its still one of the best alteretive

well lads you can all blame marcus for this lol

he has talked me into gettin 2 of these which i must say do look the bollox :)

Gigabyte GV-R587SO-1GD Super Clocked

u can clock these cards to 1010 mhz etc with no heat issues

£169 pounds each from aria which is a very good price

But do those support tesselation, i know 6950 does, but i know that these cards you took are really good, and ati scales very well in crossfire setup

If you for an example take a brick wall, without tesselation the wall is flat, but with you see all shapes and it looks real.
