Sound Card

Postby [Aliens]kronenbourg » Sat Sep 12, 2009 1:36 pm

Okay, last night was the final straw with Vent.

I think its the mic connection, as when I play bf2 or other games, the sound is still good.

So, tried with a Trust soundcard, and whilst its a shit card, it didn't have the same problem.

The one I have at the moment is Creative Soundblaster Audigy

I know that Bjorne uses onboard sound, so may try that as well, for the time being.

So, the question: Which sound card do you use? This is on an XP system, but if they can be used on Vista, so much the better.

Thanks :P

I have the same card (Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS), and it worked perfectly while I used WinXP..

But now that I use Vista, I've had all kinds of trouble... as you know ;)
The reason is that Creative are total smegheads when it comes to writing drivers....
It took them a year to write drivers for my card for Vista, and another six months to make them fairly useable...

If you want a good card, go for the Soundblaster X-Fi series!
They're much newer, and are supposed to work perfectly with both XP and Vista!
Apart from that, any card that works well in Vista is good enough!

Besides this, see: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=3127&p=44647#p44647

Will look at those cards, and that other thread is because i am new to Wireless.

Can you hear me in Sweden, or are you deaf due to the raw fish you eat in that sour oil?

I use the Xfi Xtreme gamer edition and it works like a charm.
