Heckles from 1,86ghz to 2,8 ghz its a big difference, an example of it can be that you cant max you graphics at all with 1,86 but with 2,8 you can deffo get 10 to 30 more fps in games and that my friend do make a difference :obey: :obey: :obey:

But as always its a risk , wich can be avoided alot if you oc small steps and always check temp :obey: :obey: :obey:
And my burned cpu was not due to an OC, i had pc running and made a restart only , did not start after, but it is still broken

If you want to run at 2,8 why not buy a 2,8 :)

i think like this why buy an 2,8ghz cpu for lets say 3000:- when you can get it for 700:-

all cpus are stock "extrreem" chips but not al chipsets are perfekt to be that extreme cpu, so they deaktivate funktions om them so they can sell them as cheaper cpuÅ›. its there for some gets it to run at 3,5 and other 2,8 its becurce in a lab they dont live up to the specs on different levels

just lock at AMDÅš x3 with a sertin bios you can lock up the 4:th core an mostly it works perfekt for oer usage

Sure, I understand the price issue, but still - Is it really worth all that trouble? adjusting the memory, psu, heat issues, things not working properly etc..

That's why I'm asking..

I don't have the time nor do I want to spend hours and hours trying to get my comupter running a wee bit faster.. I want it to work when I open up the box and plug it in.

But not all people are the same, lucky for us ey? :D

Don't think that's an issue Falc has to worry about though.. Flowers and Goblins look like crap whatever you run it with and BF2 I can't imagine it to look any better than it already does..

TBH, right now I'm OC'ing it just for the fun of it... to see what it can do without becoming unstable...

As I haven't installed any programs or games yet, the only difference I've noticed is when I restarted the computer... it rebooted much faster at 2.8 than it did at 1.86

I reset the settings to stock speeds, just to see if the problem was Orthos, or instability... and it was unstable at 2.8

So I'm doing it in small steps to see when I reach the limit, without increasing any voltages...

@Xytras&Heckles      , good ones :D

Back then, when I had a 133, I tried to OC it, but it refused... It was the last one in the 66-100-133 series, and they were hard to OC
My bro had a 166, and it easily OC'd to 200, and even 233 (as it was the first in the 166-200-233 series)
We saw a huge difference, as he could play NOX (and Diablo 2 I think), and I couldn't....

But as I said, I'm just doing it for the fun of it :) :)

These are the results of the Swedish jury:

Estonia, 1 point
Turkey, 2 points
...

No, hang on..... wrong topic ;)

Here are the results so far:
1.86 GHz - stable
2.24 GHz - stable
2.40 GHz - stable
2.50 GHz - stable
2.60 GHz - stable
2.66 GHz - failure, with a system crash as a result

EDIT: Forgot to mention.... Heat is not a problem... My CPU fan is still only running at 15%, and the temp is still below 45 degrees!

It seems like I've reached the limit, if I don't want to experiment with voltage settings....

2,6 GHz, with RAM running at 744MHz

But as I'm happy with that, I won't go further :) :)
