Thought I'd post this, although its nothing to do with gaming.

As many of you know, I do computer support as a hobby, and recently I'm involved with malware removal, and the research etc of it.

Now, over the past few years I've been wanting something a lot of the security people have, and I finally got it this month.

I have been awarded an MVP by Microsoft. MVP stands for Most Valuable Professional, and you can have a read here:

http://mvp.microsoft.com/en-US/Pages/default.aspx

And in Wiki:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_ ... ofessional

Mine is Consumer Security

So, what do I get? Well, apart from the great honour of having it, I get a certificate, a glass award (very heavy I may add), full subsription to MSDN and Technet, software etc

Oh, and I may be seeing Polka in possibly, as there is a meet in Dublin sometime thru the year :|

Thanks guys :P

Well, I'm a member of a few forums on the web, and I've trained in malware removal, as you have to to gain access to the tools we use. I also speak to many developers for programs like MBAM, MSE, Norton, etc.

Its specifically malware stuff I deal with, helping many others that need the help.

You get nominated for the award by Microsoft direct, or another MVP member, so it wasn't a vote by loads. Then, Microsoft check you out for the year, and it goes from there.

And yes Polka, full subscription for both. Probably will use technet more though

WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!

Got it again this year:

Congratulations! We are pleased to present you with the 2014 Microsoft® MVP Award! This award is given to exceptional technical community leaders who actively share their high quality, real world expertise with others. We appreciate your outstanding contributions in Consumer Security technical communities during the past year.

More software to use, still got the stuff from last year, and hope to go to the meet this time to meet Microsoft and the other winners.

My mum has an old pc, may grab that and test some stuff on it. May see what Windows 8 and 8.1 are like (get it for free), maybe have a look at Visio for free, Server's, the list is endless.

What a start to the new year!!!!!!!!!

Looks like I can start to create APP's etc for Windows 8 and 8.1, so will have a think and start programming again.

Missed my C++ days, and then the old OOP stuff.

Doing Access databases for work at the moment, well at home as I have plenty of time, and then can send them to work :P
